Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
Lets hope this new DOF can sell players like Levy can then

Antonio should be closer to £25-30M IMO. Looking at some of the players being banded around for £15-20M...Mitrovic, Rondon, Ings etc... I rate Antonio higher then them and believe he has stronger contract

Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
Half of those players will be dropping down a league. We had to pay half of Snodgrass's wages when he went out on loan, Byram is supposedly on about 40k and his stock was at his highest when we bought him. Hughill is also overpaid, and we didn't spend anywhere near the figure below on him, it was more like 4m with another 4m in clauses, plus he is shit and was very average for Preston anyway, fuck knows why we bought him. If we could sell Kouyate and Snodgrass for 14/15m and loan the others out I think that will be tops. Antonio should fetch 15-20m and Obiang 12-14m hopefully.

Opinions

Selling clubs might be in a stronger position due to the fact there's about 3 weeks left of the window and alot of clubs havent strengthened

Trevor B 12:44 Wed Jul 18
Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
Kouyate 10m - maybe
Byram 5M - not a chance, he will likely go out on loan to a championship club
Snodgrass 8M - i think we'd be lucky considering his 60k a week contract
Quina 2M - has a year left, has done fuck all, will probably go out on loan and run his contract down.
Hugill 8M - you're joking right? another loanee, wuld be lucky to get half that.

if we could recoup anything north of 20m for those I would be shocked.

No

Have to wait and see. But reason for optimism and some much better things to argue about than whether the signing of Emanuel Pogatetz had any purpose.

Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
I cant remember a better window, every addition looks quality, board have surprised us IMO, and exceeded expectations as well.

Credit were its due, the only thing at the back of my mind is with all these in comings, WHO is going.

Didnt they say we have 75 million to invest, think thats been exceeded and they still seem to be shopping, so who is going, and would have thought it will be for decent money to balance the spend????

Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
I agree. Byram, Oxford, Kouyate, Snodgrass, Cullen, Quina, Hughill and Antonio will be the most likely casualties....with the injuries to Carrol and Reid some players may last until January or be loaned out at least

Trevor B 12:06 Wed Jul 18
Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
you think we are going to get 30-40m from selling byram, kouyate, snodgrass, quina and hughill?

Rossal 12:04 Wed Jul 18
Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
Hope Antonio & Oxford stay

Pellegrini according to SSN this morning has been impressed with Cullen and he stays

All the rest can go, should be £30-40M sales if we can sell all of them

Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
I don't agree. Byram, Oxford, Kouyate, Snodgrass, Cullen, Quina, Hughill and Antonio will be the most likely casualties.

Can see them undoing it all by selling Arnie to recoup some outlay.

Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
All the purchases so far all seem good additions to what was considered a squad needing more quality. However the sales /departures of 5-7 players could alter the quality in depth and raise loads of funds back. When I lay awake at night trying to pick first xi as well as a strong bench and be inclusive of developing youth talent..... it seems we have 5-7 too many first team fringe players so important decisions yet to happen

Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
This is what I expected in our first pre-season after we moved, and each season following. It's a start but I'm not getting overly excited as the Daves might be thinking "That'll do us for the next five years".

Who's our back up striker to Arnie and Hernadez with Carroll out for 3 mths plus... Hugill ?

Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
I'm reserving judgement. I don't trust the board. I also want to see a new defensive midfielder come in.

easthammer 1:49 Mon Jul 16
Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
As others have said, I think we are ln need of a central defensive midfielder. But neither I nor they are Pellegrini,

It would appear it hasn't been his priority.

Maybe he knows better than us.

Surely not eh?

Takashi Miike 12:12 Mon Jul 16
Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
if arnie doesn't leave then id say yes. it may be greedy now wanting one more for central midfield but that's one area we could look stronger but the owners have done great backing pellegrini

Re: Is this already our best ever transfer window?
We've gone fucking mental. I can only think/hope that Pellegrini is 100% behind this and told the board - support what I want or I'm not coming - & they have.

Of course it remains to be seen but Pellegrini is a class act and the players we have signed are very good indeed.

I can't remember looking forward to a new season for fucking years.

COYFI's!
